How to support and cooperate
For Individuals
As a volunteer supporter “RELAtive,"
would you like to help spread the word about the charms of Shibukawa City?
What is “RELAtive”?
This is the name of the volunteer who manages Shibukawa Art RELA.
From the preparation period to the day of the event, the Shibukawa Art RELA is run with the help of RELAtive volunteers from inside and outside the city, who enjoy helping participants visiting the Art RELA and supporting artists staying in Ikaho.
We welcome people from all walks of life who love Shibukawa, love hot springs, want to support a tourist attraction, love art, want to help with art events, and so on!
The word “relative” in English means “kinship” or “ immediate family”, so we named the group “~tive” in the hope that you will get involved with us as a close relative. Also, “~tive” means “capable of, rich in.” As people who are rich in the possibilities of “rela(connections),” we hope to expand the connections between people as volunteers, including interaction with participants who visit Art Lilas and with artists in residence.
Work as RELAtive
(1) Day-of-event operational assistance
Reception at each exhibition venue during the event, guiding exhibits, supporting workshops, guiding visitors to other venues, etc.
2) Artist support
Support for artists participating in the Artist-in-Residence program, in which artists stay at a ryokan in Ikaho for about one month to conduct creative activities. We provide assistance in creative activities, such as guiding the artists around Ikaho by car for research, assisting with the purchase of art materials, and so on.
(3) Other production assistance such as publicity
Support for event production, including preparation for the event, such as updating SNS and setting up the venue. Those who have ideas for publicizing and expanding the event by utilizing their own specialties and knowledge are also welcome!
*The details of what we ask RELAtive to do may change depending on the year of the event. For details, please check the application guidelines for each RELAtive.
